This Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake For Graduation is a simple but easy design! You could serve it at a graduation party or give it as a gift like I did!
I made this cookie as part of a gift for my nephew, but you could easily use it as a graduation party dessert as well! Either way, it’s adorable and super easy!
How to Make a Giant Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake
I used a store bought cookie because I was pressed for time, but normally I would make my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe. It’s fast, never fails and much more delicious!
Just take the entire batch of chocolate chip cookie dough to make your own homemade cookie cake. You can use whatever 8″-9″ round pan you have on hand: a cake pan, pie dish or even a pizza pan. Grease your pan well and then bake your cookie cake at 350 degrees for about 22-25 minutes.
How to Decorate a Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake
Like the majority of the world, I’m not the biggest fan of how fondant tastes, but I love it for projects like this one. You only need a tiny bit of fondant to totally transform this cookie and make it adorable.

Directions to Decorate Cookie Cake
Start by rolling your black fondant into snakes. It’s easiest to start with the glasses because that will give you the size you need for everything else. I made my glasses into 3 parts: the 2 separate eyes and then the small piece in the middle that joins them.
Use another small piece of black rope to make a small smiley face.
Everything else is just rolling balls and then pressing them flat to make circles. Start with your white for your eyes, then layer the black and then a small white. I press the balls flat before I place them on so it doesn’t squoosh everything too much.
Do the same with your pink for your cheeks.
You can press down lightly on the fondant so it adheres to the cookie, but honestly, it doesn’t take much pressure. It sticks very well on it’s own.
I packaged mine up as part of a larger gift to the graduate. You can see the entire gift HERE and get the printable if you want to do the same.
These would also be adorable in a smaller size to give out as favors (just shrink the printable to make tags for your bags). Or have a cookie platter as a graduation party dessert and make a few of these to scatter on top as decoration! So many options but all equally as cute!
